What Does Meditation Involve?
Many individuals are not able to meditate independently and choose to join a meditation class. Each session may last an hour or so and usually involves sitting still in a set position usually crossed legged or on a chair if not able to. An object of meditation is chosen and chanting of a mantra may occur. Depending on the leader, other rituals may occur. As the session progresses slow breathing promotes and focuses deep relaxation and tranquility.
